Why Drivers Matter

Why Drivers Matter

Drivers matter because they’re the primary component responsible for producing sound. Simply put… better drivers mean better sound. At Logitech UE, we pioneered—and perfected—the use of armature drivers in our Custom Stage Monitors. And we boosted the capabilities of dynamic drivers through laser tuning and by using high-sensitivity materials like Mylar.

So whether you’re looking for durable and dependable, or if only cutting-edge will do, every pair of UE earphones deliver sound that, like any great work of art, is nothing short of breathtaking.

  • Multiple-Armature Earphones

Because of their compact size, more than one armature speaker can be fit into each earpiece. Then, each one can be tuned and dedicated to a specific part of the sound spectrum. When each driver has less to do, they work more efficiently. The result is exceptional sound across the frequency range—with lots of headroom and no perceived distortion.

  • Single Balanced-Armature Earphones

Found in many professional earphones, balanced-armature speakers do not require external air to produce sound. This allows them to be tuned very precisely while providing increased noise isolation. Balanced armatures produce a more accurate midrange and treble than dynamic drivers for clear, detailed sound.

  • Dynamic Driver Earphones

Dynamic drivers are the most common type of earphone speaker. They are the workhorse of the music industry. Think of them as miniaturized loudspeakers (like the ones connected to your home stereo). Simple and robust, dynamic drivers are particularly good at reproducing low frequencies.
